"The Metropolitan Police yesterday unveiled the world´s fastest patrol car - in the shape of a 211mph Lamborghini Murcielago - that could one day be used by forces across the UK.
The vehicle is one of the stars of the MPH06 peformance car motor show - which has been running at the Birmingham NEC over the last few days, and today starts its run at London´s Earls Court, which will last until Sunday 5 November.
Getting from 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds, this is one car that crooks wouldn´t want to see coming up behind them in their rear-view mirror. The cars are already used by police forces in Italy, after the supercar manufacturer donated a number of the vehicles to help police in the fight against criminals.
The mid-engined sports cars are used for routine patrols and the less routine transporting of blood and transplant organs - and can be lifesavers - having been fitted with heart defibrilators to provide assistance at the roadside when attending traffic accidents.
The car will be a star attraction at the Metropolitan Police traffic unit exhibition at the MPH show where police officers will be on hand to talk to the public about the work they do to keep the roads safe."
